Got Dropped into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work

Genre: Horror / Comedy

Type: Web Novel

First Impressions

This story has a really interesting premise. The main character suddenly finds himself inside a supernatural horror setting, but instead of panicking constantly, he still has to deal with everyday responsibilities like work and survival.

What Makes It Fun

The mix of horror and comedy works surprisingly well. Creepy situations are balanced with relatable humor, making the story entertaining rather than just purely dark.

The protagonist is also very relatable. His hobbies and interests act as his comfort zone, especially his interest in reading horror stories online, which can be related to a lot of us. Which makes the story really readable, because I/We can resonate with the MC.

“Imagine reading ghost stories for fun, and then suddenly living in one.” A fantasy weve all had right?

Reading Experience

The chapters feel somewhat episodic, similar to the cartoons many of us watched growing up. Each arc introduces a new strange situation or mystery, while slowly building up the larger story. The characters you meet at the beginning gets heavily used throughout the novel. And the characters also really feel complex, not just one-dimensional. (My personal favorite, Braun)

Because of this structure, the novel is very easy to binge. It feels like a great series to read casually when you want something entertaining but not overly heavy.(I read it while eating WHWAHHAWD)

Final Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
